OUTTABOUNDS. This is a field guide I created to explore the area of Middle Tennessee more. I come from a place where outdoors are a high commodity especially for the younger crowd. When I moved to Murfreesboro, TN, it felt that want for outdoor life kind of disappeared– it became more about city life. But, I knew there had to be a large outdoor culture, I just needed to find it.Â
This field guide explores outdoor basketball courts. I went around taking photos of these areas with a film camera, which is why they have a rough undertone to the photo treatment. I made note of the quality of the area, how many goals they had, the types of goals they had, and gave them a ranking based off of a 5-star system. Most of them passed the vibe check!
Aiming to give this project a urban feel, I used a lot of textures with hints of color to pop off of the texture making this your ideal field guide to find your next outdoor court!
